The West Entrance is the most conveniently located of all the entrances to Yellowstone National Park. Some of the highlights accessible from the West Entrance include:

Yellowstone National Park Operating Dates

The West Entrance to Yellowstone National Park operates seasonally. The summer season typically runs from the 3^rd Saturday in April through November 1^st. The entrance closes for the fall shoulder season and typically reopens in mid-December for the winter oversnow travel season, which runs through mid-March. After the winter oversnow season ends, the West Entrance remains closed until the summer season begins in April.
